This exhibition plots an all-encompassing route through the work of Aurèlia Muñoz, an artist who is pivotal to an understanding of contemporary textile art. The show, with a title referring to one of the core concepts in Muñoz’s art-making — entes (beings) — spans the fifty or more years of a multifaceted practice that transcends the spheres of fabric, fibre and craft, shaping an unprecedented view that seeks to open fresh perspectives on her unique legacy.
The exhibition Aurèlia Muñoz. Beings is opened via an inaugural conversation with its curatorial team, made up of Manuel Cirauqui, Rosa Lleó and Sílvia Ventos, who offer a wider reading of the artist’s legacy, the experimental nature of her work and the keys to understanding the cohesiveness and depth of her creative universe.
