Reaching families in need across Middle East |
WCK, working alongside our partners, has provided nearly 6 million plates of food in the form of warm meals and food kits to families impacted by conflict in Gaza, Israel, Lebanon, and Egypt. |
Over the past weeks, more than 200 trucks loaded with much-needed aid have departed our warehouse in Egypt, bound for Gaza, and to date, 83 trucks have reached Anera—our partner on the ground across Gaza. The rest are in transit and awaiting customs clearances to enter the territory. At the same time, our teams have been at hospitals in Israel ensuring returning hostages are met with freshly prepared, nourishing meals. |

More than 2 million meals served in Mexico in month since Hurricane Otis
In the weeks since Category 5 Hurricane Otis made landfall along the Pacific coast of Mexico, World Central Kitchen has provided much needed aid—from food and water to masa flour and bridge repairs—by working alongside local partners and impacted communities. We have worked with 124 partners to provide more than 2 million hot meals and sandwiches, along with over 140,000 gallons of potable water. Our teams have distributed 160 tons of corn flour so local tortillerias can provide tortillas—a regional staple—for their neighborhoods. This work is in large part possible thanks to the countless Mexicans, many directly impacted by the storm, who are supporting our efforts. |

WCK work in Ukraine to continue through winter |
As Ukraine heads into its second full winter under attack, WCK teams continue supporting families most in need. Frontline communities are still suffering from lack of access to food, water, and basic utilities like electricity and heating. As we witnessed last winter, cold months will only exacerbate these challenges. While many parts of the country have transitioned to longer term recovery efforts, countless communities along Ukraine’s eastern border face consistent bombardment, including attacks on vital infrastructure. Our ongoing work is focused on quickly responding to these attacks to ensure civilians and first responders get the support they need, when they need it most. Watch the video below to see how our work in Ukraine has evolved since the conflict started 20 months ago. |

This essential work will continue through the winter. Learn more about our work in Ukraine here. |

Town in Iceland evacuated ahead of potential volcanic eruption
All residents of Grindavik have been evacuated from their homes in anticipation of a catastrophic volcanic eruption. WCK teams were on the ground working with local restaurant and NGO partners to support impacted families. Displaced people have only been able to return home for minutes to retrieve valuables and there’s no anticipated date when it will be safe to return. We have established partnerships across the impacted region to ensure WCK-provided meals reach anyone in need after the expected eruption. |

Relief Team winds down work in Armenia |
Nearly 200,000 people were forced from their homes in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, also called Artsakh, and fled to neighboring Armenia. For more than a month, our Relief Team worked to provide hot meals and food kits for these families as they sought safe haven in cities and towns across the country. We set up a Relief Kitchen in the Armenian capital, Yerevan, where we cooked thousands of hot meals daily, using local spices and ingredients to create comforting flavors. Alongside our teams worked women who had been displaced from Artsakh and had lost loved ones to the violence. We were awed by their bravery, determination, and empathy as they gave their energy and skills to serve others, even in spite of their incredible loss. |

WCK has been selected for the second year in a row as the beneficiary of Thankmas, a digital fundraising holiday event hosted by YouTube creator, Sean "Jacksepticeye" McLoughlin.
Last year, Jacksepticeye and his community, along with generous sponsors, broke the single-day, charity streaming record by raising more than $10 million for WCK. Fundraising has already begun for this year and continues through the end of December. We invite you to tune in for the live broadcast this Saturday, December 2, and you can register to fundraise here—hopefully this will be another record-breaking event! |
